by Kegalle special correspondent

He said that late President Premadasa was keen in lifting the economic barriers on the rural masses and in order to do so he set up hundreds of garment factories in rural areas providing employment opportunities.

Today we take the computer technology education to the rural areas in the same style to uplift the rural economy in remote areas in the rural sectors, said the Minister.

He said that the leaders and the persons who are in power must talk sense, and ways of developing the country, to take the country forward in terms of economic development, Minister Moragoda said.

The Chairman of Rambukkana Pradeshiya Sabha, G.G.Jayasinghe, Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary, Sunil Jayalath, the Chairman of the Tobacco company Denis Perera, the President of the `E-Vish' Organisation Sanjaya Wickramanayake and the former MP of the Vavuniya, Punchihewa also addressed this meeting.
