CH and FC entered the final of the under-21 rugby tournament with a superb 26 points (four tries, two penalties) to 13 (two tries, one penalty) win over Havelocks SC in the semi-final played yesterday at Havelock Park after leading 13-5 at 'lemons'.

Havelocks opened scoring in the fifth minute when they won a line out in the CH '25' and set the three quarters in motion and winger Asanga fell over for an unconverted try by the left corner flag. Five minutes later CH reduced the deficit when Harshana Wijeweera fired across a 40 metre penalty. In the 25th minute CH and FC won a 25 metre line out and winger Nuwan Basnayake dashed through 25 metres to fall over for an unconverted try mid left. Two minutes later Harshana Wijeweera picked up a loose ball and ran 30 metres to score mid right. He missed the conversion and CH led 13-5 at half time.

In the 9th minute of the second half CH full back Danushka Pushpakumara collected a clearance kick by a Havelocks defender and ran 30 metres along the left flank to fall over for an unconverted try to make it 18-5. Havelocks fly half Tikini Dissanayake fired across a 30 metre penalty and two minutes later flanker T. D.

Herath fell over for an unconverted try after receiving a pass from Mohamed Tariq off a five metre short tap to make it 18-13. In the 22nd minute CH increased the lead when off a maul in the Havies '25' fly half Ishan Perera slung out a pass to full back Danushka Pushpakumara who scored by the right corner flag.

Wijeweera missed the conversion but made amends for it by firing across a 30 metre penalty to make it 26-13 in favour of CH.
