DHL Worldwide Express now 'Pulse to the Business'

By Shirajiv Sirimane

DHL Worldwide Express, the world's leading international air express distribution and logistics service provider will be changing its tag line to 'Pulse of the Business' from today. A media campaign to announce the new tag line will be launched.

According to the Country Manager DHL Keells (Pvt.) Ltd, Chaminda Hewamamallika, this is designed to strengthen its global brand awareness. "The new campaign, recently unveiled in Asia, focuses on DHL's core industry strengths which are speed, reliability and accessibility, across the high-tech, electronics and fashion sectors," he said.

Hewamamallika said that the new campaign aims to position DHL as an essential link in today's business world. "DHL is global leader in the business of helping keep the wheels of business turning and customers depend on us to meet their international trade deadlines on time, every time," he said.

DHL worldwide Express pioneered the international air express industry as a company shipping documents and parcels 33 years ago. During the course of these three decades, DHL rapidly became not only the global leader for international air express services, but also a company that is in the business of providing delivery solutions. Our new communications platform, and the use of the three red lines, represents this continued evolution of DHL from a courier to a carrier to a business solutions provider, bringing to life our commitment to being a business that moves businesses."

Locally, DHL is continuing to focus on enhancing its service commitment to the customers by investing on new technology and processes which would substantially reduce the transit times between Sri Lanka and all major international trade locations. DHL's Customs Clearance Gateway in Ja-Ela is now equipped with state-of-the art shipment security and clearance systems and further investments are being planned to upgrade this facility to international standards, before the end of this year.

The Country Manager said that they are hoping to relocate their Country office to a new facility in the near future. He said that DHL is also hoping to upgrade their customer automation technology by offering web based shipment tracking and processing applications. Future plans also include setting up franchise offices in all major towns in Sri Lanka to cater to the international express distribution needs of individuals and commercial establishments.

DHL Worldwide Express, recognised by the Asian Freight Industry Awards for providing the 'Best Express Service' for 16 consecutive years, has a 37.5% global shipment share of the international air express market.

DHL Worldwide Express is the global market leader of the international air express industry. An established innovator since pioneering the industry in 1969, DHL continues to be at the forefront of technology, offering fast, responsive, and cost-effective, express deliveries in addition to e-commerce fulfilment and intelligent logistics solutions.

The DHL network links over 120,000 destinations in more than 220 countries and territories and employs 71,000 people. DHL is majority owned by Deutsche Post World Net. The other shareholders include Japan Airlines.
