by Kumar Wethasinghe The Court of Appeal yesterday allowed bail in Rs. 100,000 to each of the remaining two suspects in the Udatalawinna mass murder. The Bench comprised Justices Raja Fernando and G.W Edirisuriya. The two suspects Krishantha Indika Wijeratne and Dammika Siriwardana who are SL Army personnel were allegedly abducted at Mawanella,while driving two Army vehicles on December 6, 2001. They were later produced before Teldeniya Magistrate and ordered to remand custody. Earlier, the Court of Appeal granted bail to Former Deputy Defence Minister Gen. Anuruddha Ratwatte and his two sons Lohan and Chanuka. Last week the Court released another six suspects involved in the Udatalawinna mass murder incident. |
