Cricket coaching camp at Matale

The Matale Branch of the Sampath Bank and the Matale Cricket Club will conduct a joint cricket coaching programme for cricketers in the Matale District on Friday, September 27 at 9 a.m. at the Bernard Aluvihare Stadium in Matale.

This coaching programme will be conducted by the national cricketers employed at Sampath Bank namely Chandika Hathurusinghe, Don Anurasiri, Piyal Wijetunge, Rangana Herath and Indika Gallage and this will no doubt give a tremendous boost to cricketers in the Matale District.

This coaching camp is open to both school cricketers and others who need to be fine tuned coaching camps of this nature will boost cricket in the Matale District which is famous for its hockey. Among those who will be conducting this coaching programme are three top spinners Don Anurasiri, Piyal Wijetunga and Rangana Herath and this will be an ideal opportunity for the slow bowlers to getting themselves to learn the art of spin bowling and the other techniques which go with it to make a good spinner.

This coaching camp will be the first of the series of coaching camps to be conducted and in the future too the Sampath Bank and the Matale Cricket Club have decided to run this partnership for the development cricket in the Matale district so that new talents could be unearthed.
