by Rashomi Silva Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will inaugurate the Gal Amuna Development Scheme today. The development scheme will come under the Menik Ganga Left Bank Development Project under the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Management. Menik Ganga will be diverted from the place known as Duwa in Yala National Park and a dam will be built across the river to provide water to six rivulets in Kataragama. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 50 million and funded by the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Management. The irrigation scheme will provide water for over 500 acres of paddy and alternate crop cultivation for Yala and Maha seasons |
