Lankan sportsmen invited to Maldives

Sportsmen and sportswomen of the National Youth Services Council of Sri Lanka were invited to the Maldives for friendly games by the visiting Maldivian Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mohamed Zahir Hussain.

Hussain and Maldivian Ministry officials who visited Sri Lanka recently on a survey tour over youth development projects and activities in the country praised the youth club federation network in Sri Lanka. Deputy Director of Youth and Sports Ali Zaki and Senior Youth Officer Aishath Raseed accompanied the Minister.

The minister said Asians possess a historic, culture than people from any other region. "Development with reality, peace, and harmony is our dream", he said

Director General of the National Youth Services Council Sunil Jayaweera briefed the visitors about the Youth Services Council and the Sri Lanka Youth Club Federation.

Jayaweera accepted the Maldivian Minister's invitation and promised to send sportsmen and sportswomen to the Maldives in December for friendly games.
