by Akuressa group correspondent The annual festival of St. Anne's Church, Hiniduma begins with hoisting of the flag on September 22, Sunday at 8 a.m. The festival will be concluded with alms-giving on September 29, Sunday noon. Special religious services are scheduled to be held daily during festival season. Administrator of the Church Rev. Fr. Charles Hewawasam has made all arrangements to hold this festival on a grand scale. The annual St. Anne's procession will parade the streets on September 28 night and 29 morning. All facilities such as water, electricity, sanitation, rest rooms and vehicle parking places are provided for the devotees who participate in religious services during the festival days. A fancy fair will also be held at Hiniduma on these days. Most Rev. Elmo Perera, Bishop of Galle and Rev. Fr. Nihal Nanayakkara, V.G. Galle will conduct special religious services concluding the festival. |
