The LTTE on Friday released a tractor stolen from a civilian on July 22 while he was transporting sand in Trincomalee, Defence sources told the Daily News yesterday.

The LTTE handed over the tractor to the owner, a resident of Neelapola, Seruvila in the presence of the Viharadhipathi of the Seruvila Raja Maha Viharaya.

Four armed LTTE cadres had stolen the tractor from the civilian, who complained of the theft to Police and to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission.
