Kumar Dharmasena, another off-spinner recalled to the Sri Lanka side took one for 35 off 10 overs. Thushara then undid all the good work with the bat when he bowled 24 wides to concede 70 runs in nine overs as the Sri Lankan batsmen led by Marvan Atapattu with 42 off 50 balls (7 fours) successfully overhauled the target in the 39th over.
