Business delegation from Japan due in November

A business delegation from Japan will visit Sri Lanka from November 24 to 28 to participate in the 13th Joint Meeting of the Sri Lanka Japan Business Co-operation Committees (SLJBCC). A part of the Joint Meeting would also be devoted to one to one business meetings between Japanese and Sri Lankan businessmen.

The objectives of the Joint Meeting are to promote trade, investment and services including tourism between the two countries.

As part of the celebrations of 50 years of diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and Japan, the SLJBCC with the assistance of its counterpart in Japan will organise a "Japan-Sri Lanka 21st Century Symposium". Leading professionals from Japan and Sri Lanka will address the Symposium on Japan Sri Lanka relations including business and cultural relationships and promote mutual understanding about the global strategy in the 21st Century. The activities of the SLJBCC in Sri Lanka are co-ordinated by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce whilst the activities of the Japan-Sri Lanka Business Co-operation Committee are coordinated by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tokyo Japan. The two Committees were set up in 1979.
