By Charlie Herat

The Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) of Kurunegala and Wayamba Export and Trading House (Pvt) Ltd (WETH) will take two delegations to the Canton Trade Fair in China for the fourth consecutive time. The Next Canton trade fair will be held from October 15 to 30 in two phases. The first phase will be held from October 15 to 20 and the second phase will be from October 25 to 30.

The Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also called Canton Fair, is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn since it was inaugurated in the Spring of 1957. This is the largest international trade fair organised at the highest level presenting a wide range of a variety of goods produced in keeping with the scientific development that is taking place with the exploration of new technologies.

The fair records a large attendance from all over the world as well as a rewarding business turnover. It covers about 150,000 sq/m with over 7,000 trade stalls. Over 125,000 business men from over 185 countries visited the last fair in April 2002 and the value of confirmed business transactions during the fair was US$ 16 billions.

This is an ideal opportunity for the business community to visit this prestigious fair said Hemanthe Galgamuwa, Marketing Manager (WETH).
