Soccer encounter abandoned

Old Uvites Sports Club after trailing by five goals at the short whistle, failed to report thereafter in their Badulla League "B" division Football encounter against Central Sports Club played at the Vincent Dias Stadium last Thursday.

Old Uvites SC entered the grounds with only 8 players and before Lemons, Central SC scored 5 goals through M. Sasikumar (2), S. Yogarajah, V. Arumugam and C. M. Lathif. However Old Uvites team did not turn back for the second session of play. Referee V. G. A. K. Silva abandoned the encounter. The Badulla Football League is expected to meet shortly to take a decision in this regard.

In another 'B' division encounter played last Friday Old Duthians SC 'B' beat Al Adhan Sports Club by 2 goals to nil.

D. M. Dinul Sampath and K. P. K. Chandrasekera scored the goals. Ranjith Dissanayake controlled the game.
