Police 'Griffins' beat CR 'Bees' 36-10 Police 'Griffins' beat CR and FC 'Bees' by 36 points to 10 in the SLRFU 'B' Division knock out rugby tournament semifinal match played at Havelock Park yesterday. The winners collected their points from three goals and three tries after having led 5 nil at half time. CR and FC 'Bees' responded with two unconverted tries. Full back Danushka Pubudu (2), Ranga Gunasekera (2), Saman Ekanayake (1) and Upul Costa (1) did the scoring for Police with fly half Anjula Wijeratne converting three tries. For CR and FC 'Bees' winger Viraj de Silva and prop forward Samudra Rajaratnam scored a try each. In the second semifinal played at Longden Place CH and FC 'Kabaragoyas' beat Army 'Colts' by 28 points to 18 after Army had led 11-8 at half time. Referee A. C. Tennekoon. |
