Apology to the Hon. Minister Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya Minister of Power and Energy

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited hereby tenders an unqualified apology to Karu Jayasuriya, Minister of Power and Energy for the pain of mind and loss of reputation caused to the Hon. Minister consequent upon the publication of a news item in the Dinamina newspaper of 19.03.1997.

The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited hereby states that the allegations statements attributed expressly or impliedly in the said news item to the Minister Karu Jayasuriya are incorrect and false and therefore The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, hereby unreservedly withdraws these allegations.
