by Bharatha Malawaraarachchi The Government Medical officers yesterday urged health authorities to cancel this year's annual tranfer list of Grade Medical officers, claiming that it has violated the accepted transfer procedures. A GMOA spokesman told the Daily News the transfer list has created confusion among medical officers as there are no designated posts to apply. "This will also allow Heads of Institutions to fill posts at their own discretion violating the principles of the transfer scheme," he added. Besides, the list does not include many Medical Officers who have completed their stipulated period." We think this is a purposeful ommission and request the authorities to correct it." he added. The spokesman said the GMOA would send a letter to the Director General Health Services explaining those irregularies and hope to inform the Minister also on this issue. They are urging the health authorities to appoint a committee to investigate into this matter and publish a fresh corrected list. |
