Seylan Bank ties up with Galeleo

Seylan Bank which is the only franchise holder for Visa Electron Card in Sri Lanka, has tied up with Galeleo.

Galeleo is a multinational company specialising in providing travel distribution systems for travel agents in order to furnish information on airline inventory of seats, availability of hotel rooms, car rentals and cruise lines.

The suppliers to these customers could help to tap travel counsellors who ultimately assist the customer in vendor selection. The basis on which this scheme operates is that it is a travel industry wide Loyalty Program, giving suppliers (vendors) an opportunity to generate loyalty towards a specific product or the overall brand itself.

By making available such information such as availability of seats in a plane, Galeleo enables users of computers linked to its network enjoy the benefit of making bookings as well. With this tie up, travel consultants initially in Sri Lanka could avail themselves of the Galeleo Pal Visa Electron Card.

The new product called Galeleo Pal and Seylan Bank is likely to benefit through this within the travel agency community. With this product being launched in Sri Lanka too, companies engaged in the travel and leisure sectors could promote their own products by awarding additional points to those subscribing for this card. For instance, an airline company which wants to promote a particular sector could provide additional loyalty points for that sector through this program. In order to encourage active participation among agencies, Galeleo has set targets for each agent and also for each individual within an agency.

Through this tie up Seylan Bank believes that they could enhance the value of the Visa Electron Card and also popularise it among the young career men and women in the travel industry who with this facility can enjoy the freedom to travel with access to their account from any part of the world.
