KBSL to enhance SLTnet's network management system Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) entered into an agreement with Keells Business Systems Limited (KBSL) to enhance SLTnet's network management system. SLT CEO Shuhei Anan and JKH Director Ajith Gunawardene signed the agreement at a ceremony held in the SLT Head Office recently. After signing the agreement Gunawardene said "SLT and John Keells' business relationship is very broad and deep. The network provided by SLT to the John Kelles Group is something, which we all can be proud of and has become a very powerful selling point when we do business negotiations with foreign counterparts". This agreement "will further strengthen the business relationship between SLT and the John Keells Group" Gunawardene said. "SLT is very proud to have a partner such as John Keells," Anan said. He said that SLT put its fullest effort to offer the maximum value possible to customers. Value addition, "in today's context is an obligatory feature of any business. We try to follow it. With the new network management system, SLTnet customers will be able to enjoy more reliability," Anan said. The deployment of network management system will leverage in providing a robust network operational environment for SLTnet, in the competitive IP landscape in Sri Lanka. This system will also provide the ability monitor the IP infrastructure in real time including the customer connectivity and will also complement in Real Time Fault Reporting and Escalation, which will further enhance the customer responsiveness. SLTnet customers enjoy an unmatched bandwidth of 90 Mbps, from global Tier 1 ISP's NTT Communications / Verio (USA) and UUNet (USA), with a dual homed arrangement providing a redundant and resilient IP backbone. SLTnet has a port capacity of up to 2000 ports, consisting of PSTN and ISDN based access providing seamless connectivity. SLTnet ADSL connectivity has been launched in a pilot phase at Slave Island, with an initial capacity of 100 ports.
