Australian trade mission due here on Sept 2

A 13-member trade and investment promotion delegation from Australia, led by Ian Whitaker, Manager, International Trade Centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia will be visiting Sri Lanka from September 2 to 5. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be arranging a meeting on September 2 for its members to meet the visiting delegation. The highlight of the meeting will be a presentation by Ian Whitaker, leader of the delegation on "Doing Business with Australia", which will be followed by one-to-one meetings.

The delegation comprises Belden Australia (Pty) Ltd - leading manufacturers of advanced wire, copper cable and fibre optic products, Hindle-Buralli - freight forwarders and customs clearance services, Leighton Contractors (Pty) Limited - Construction, technical and management services in civil, mining, marine work, offshore drilling, mechanical and electrical engineering, building design and construction, project management, property development and project financing, Royston Diesel Sales (Pty) Ltd - Suppliers and installers of diesel engines for power generation plants, diesel/electric locomotives, marine, electromotive components and related parts, Solahart Industries (Pty) Ltd - Manufacturers of solar hot water systems for residential and commercial applications, South Western Sydney Institute (TBC) - Training and consultancy services to industries, businesses and educational institutions, Woodside Energy Ltd - explorers, developers and producers of hydrocarbon products, DF Crawley and Associates - Chartered Accountants, Department of Industry and Technology (TBC) - promoting Western Australian companies to develop overseas markets for their goods and services and work to attract foreign investment, Consulate-General of Sri Lanka and promoting bilateral commercial relationship. The delegates have expressed interest in establishing contacts with joint venture partners, potential clients, suppliers, buyers, manufacturers, agents and distributors.
