Inter-club knock-out cricket tournament The All Island Interclub Knockout Softball Cricket Tournament played for the Supiri Wasana Sampatha Challenge Trophy sponsored by the National Lotteries Board will be conducted by the Sri Lanka Softball Cricket Federation. This Tournament is open for any Club, School or any other Organization actively participating in softball cricket. First round matches will be played on a district level with a minimum of 10 teams per district. The winners of this tournament will be awarded Rs. 30,000 in cash, certificates and the Supiri Wasana Sampatha Challenge Trophy. The runners-up will receive Rs. 15,000 in cash, certificates and the Supiri Wasana Challenge Trophy and the losing semi finalist will receive Rs. 5000 in cash. Additionally, there will be cash awards for the man of the series, best batsman, best bowler, best fielder and man of the finals as decided by the Tournament Committee. According to the Tournament Secretary a large number of entries have already been received. Entries will close on 30th August 2002 and no teams will be enrolled after the deadline. Sri Lanka Softball Cricket Federation has already made arrangements to conduct an all island Inter Girls School 20 overs Softball Cricket tournament in the first week of September 2002. 23 Girls Schools have already sent their entry forms. The draw will be held on August 30th at 12.00 noon at Presbyterian Girls School, Dehiwala. |
