Suntel, a leader in telecommunications and Internet in Sri Lanka has joined hands with the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation to provide televoting services on their website www.Suntelwow.lk during the live telecast of the Asian Athletic games.

Televoting is an automated online voting system which would allow the viewer to call in to a designated number, cast their vote by selecting an answer to a multiple choice question which is displayed on screen. This for example will allow the viewer to cast his/her vote against who will win a particular event.

Televoting service was introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka by Suntel in 1998 during the Carlton United Trinagular One day cricket series that was played in Australia. This service is used in many parts of the world and is increasingly gaining popularity in the Asian Region.
