Malaysia is willing to assist Sri Lanka in her ports construction projects and also considering investment in the construction field, stated the Minister of Works of Malaysia Dato' Seri S. Samy Vellu, in a meeting with Minister Rauff Hakeem. The visiting Malaysian Minister heading a 24 member official delegation expressed his country's readiness to co-operate with Sri Lanka in the sphere of harbour and highway construction. Minister Hakeem briefed the Malaysian Minister on the ongoing development work at the Southern Pier of the Colombo Port. He said that Malaysian collaboration could be taken into consideration in future port development projects in Sri Lanka. Malaysian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Skandar Sarudeen, 1st Secretary Hizamudeen and 2nd Secretary Abdullah Zawavi Thahir accompanied the delegation. |
