Minister orders more stocks of milk food

Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Ravi Karunanayake has directed the CWE to place an urgent order for Sathosa Full cream milk powder which was sold out in record time.

Breaking all price barriers for powdered milk CWE introduced its product earlier this month under Sathosa brand name at Rs. 99.50 per 400 gram pack and was sold exclusively at the retail outlets.

"The entire stock was sold out in record time and we never anticipated such a demand," a senior CWE official remarked.

The Minister has also informed the CWE to bring forward the future orders as there should not be any shortage in the market. Accordingly the consignments due to arrive in 6 months will be brought forward within the next 3 months.
