Kandy Esala pageant starts on July 14

The annual historic Esala pageant of the Kandy Sri Dalada Maligawa will start on July 14.

Kap will be erected at the four Devales in Kandy facing both on July 11 at 6.45 am and the Perahera will be conducted within the Devale precincts until July 13. From July 14 to 24 the Perahera will be conducted along the streets of the Kandy town.

Kumbal Perahera will be held from July 14 to 18 and the Randoli Perahera from July 19 to 23.

The Perahera will be concluded with the Day Perahera on July 24 according to the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Neranjan Wijeyeratne.
