Two persons were shot dead yesterday evening in Hulftsdrop by two unidentified gunmen who had disappeared from the scene seconds after the shooting.

One of the victims has been identified as Mohomed Haneefa alias "Kudu Noor " who is said to have maintained close links with the underworld.

A senior official of the Keselwatta Police said the duo had been talking to each other at Abdul Hameed street when the shooting took place around 2.30 pm. Police believe the killers were armed with a pistol and shotgun. No arrests have been made so far.
