Maldives to promote investments in Lanka

Male, Tuesday - Minister of Tourism Gamini Lokuge and Minister of Rural Economy and the Deputy minister of Finance Bandula Gunawandana attended a special Investment Forum at the Hululle Airport Hotel on Monday night in Male, the capital of the Maldives.

The Investment Forum was held to promote foreign investments in Sri Lanka. The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in the Maldives T. A. Samsudheen presided. The investment opportunities and the incentives to foreign investers were explained to the gathering. Ministers Gamini Lokuge, Bandula Gunawandana and the chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourist Board Paddy Withana addressed the gathering. Minister of tourism of the Maldives Hassan Sobir was also present.

Nearly forty resort owners and some leading members of the business committee of the Maldives attended the meeting.

Sri Lanka's High Commission organised the Forum with the assistance of (MATI) Maldives Association for Tourism Industry.
