Bus runs down precipice, 7 injured by Kegalle special correspondent A bus belonging to Kegalle CTB Depot went down a precipice on its way to Kegalle from Bulathkohupitiya in the early hours of June 19. The bus is reported to have left the bulathkohupitiya bus stand at 4 a.m. on that fateful day. On its way, about a mile away from Bulathkohupitiya on the Kegalle, Bulathkohupitiya highway, the driver, in making an effort to save a dog being crushed under the wheels of the bus, skidded and went down a precipice of about sixty feet injuring seven commuters. At the time only a few were travelling in the bus, said the police. Two of the seriously injured passengers were removed to Kegalle Base hospital while five passengers who sustained minor injuries were hospitalised at the Kabagomuwa hospital near Bulathkohupitiya. |
