A rousing win for Petes

St. Peter's College scored a rousing 34 points to 10 win over Ananda in their Milo 'A' Division League rugby encounter played at Havelock Park yesterday.

The Peterites collected their points from two goals and four tries after having led 12-nil at half time. Ananda managed to score only a goal and a penalty.

Wing three quarter Mohamed Rinaz was in tremendous form as he touched down on four occasions for the Peterites. In addition Malik Perera and D. Nonis also scored a try each for the winners. Shamrath Fernando refereed. - (C.D)

Maristonians beat Isipatana 4-3

Maris Stella College Negombo put up a fine performance to beat the giant killers Isipatana MV 4-3 in the Don Paul Henry Patrick Memorial soccer tournament final worked off at De Mazenod College grounds, Kandana yesterday.

Maris Stella took a commanding 3-1 lead at half time but found stiff opposition in the second half from Isipatana who did well to score two goals before going down fighting. - (C.D)
