11th World Veterans TT C'ships : Fifteen member team for Switzerland

The Minister of Sports, Hon. Johnston Fernando has approved the selection of a 15-member Sri Lanka team to play in the World Veterans Table Tennis Championships to be held in Lucerne, Switzerland from June 24 to 29.

The team led by Pesi Pestonjee, past president of the TTASL. He as the first player from Sri Lanka to play in the World Championships. Pestonjee has been honoured by the Swaythling Club International (the world body representing past champions and those who have played for their country in the world championships). He is one of the only five nominees for this championships.

Manager W. A. Buddhasiri is a former national player represented Sri Lanka from 1979 to 1991, including three World Championships, Asian Championships and South Asian Championship, has toured Germany, Sweden, India, Pakistan, Nepal.
