SriLankan Airlines, Hotel Dolphin win TTSC softball sixes

SriLankan Airlines and Club Hotel Dolphin won the 26th Annual Travel Trade softball cricket sixes when they beat Hotel Lanka Oberoi and Kandalama Hotel in the Men's and Women's tournaments respectively in the finals worked out at the Shalika grounds last Saturday.

In the men's tournament semifinals. SriLankan Airlines beat Le Kandyan Hotel and Hotel Lanka Oberoi beat Triton Hotel to enter the finals.

In the final Lanka Oberoi batting first scored 42 runs for 3 wickets (T. Rajakumara 14) in their 5 overs. In reply, SriLankan Airlines scored 45 for 2 wickets in 4.1 overs (Bandula Karunaratne 17, Indika Herath 14 not out).

In the women's tournament semi-finals, Club Hotel Dolphin beat SriLankan Airlines and Kandalama Hotel beat Aset Airways to enter the final. In the finals Kandalama Hotel batting first scored 30 for 4 wickets in their 5 overs. In reply, Club Hotel Dolphin reached 31 for 3 wickets in 3.2 overs.

Sixty three men's and 19 women's teams participated in this tournament, which was conducted by the Travel Trade Sports Club and was sponsored for the 6th successive year by Aitken Spence Travels sector. Manil de Mel, Managing Director of Aitken Spence Travels was the chief guest and gave away the awards.
