Youth congress in Jaffna on July 21

The National Youth Services Council and Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation are making arrangements to hold their next anniversary meeting at Jaffna on July 21 at the Central College.

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Jhonston Fernando promised to hold the next congress meeting of the Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation at Jaffna as to strengthen the peace program of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the LTTE leadership at the National Youth day festival held on May 23 at the National Youth Centre, Maharagama.

I keeping the promise of the Minister the National Youth Services Council and the Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation has decided to hold the next congress meeting at Jaffna. This will be the biggest national level meeting ever held at Jaffna.

The LTTE organisation had promised to extend their fullest support to make the festival a success and higher level officers of the politics unit of the LTTE will be present at the festival; the Chairman and director General of the NYSC Sunil Jayaweera told the 'Daily News'.

Representing all districts 400 delegates from Youth clubs including Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and other small ethnic groups will participate at the festival.

The Minister will chair the congress meeting and the chairman of the NYSC, the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Youth Clubs Federation Sujeewa Upuljith, delegates from the LTTE Minister and Parliamentary members in the North will grace this occasion.

A cultural event with Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim traditional cultural items will be held to conclude the festival.
