Elephant House ice creams on wheels

Elephant House ice creams and icy chocs are now available via a three-wheel mobile operation that commenced recently. Ceylon Cold Stores decided to commence a three-wheeler operation due to the demand for their products.

Initially the 45 trishaws will operate in Colombo, Panadura, Galle, Matara, Tissamaharama, Kataragama, Avissawella, Embilipitiya, Nuwara Eliya, Gampaha, Kuliyapitiya, Wariyapola, Kurunegala, Kandy, Matale, Gampola, Jaela, Negombo and Polonnaruwa. In addition the newly launched Pani Cadju which has proved to be very popular is also available.

According to Director CCS (distributors) Ltd. Neil Samarasinghe, the objective of the three-wheeler operation is to further facilitate their customers by delivering ice creams to their doorstep. "We will also participate in special occasions where there are large gathering as well, "said Samarasinghe who said that the CCS three wheeler operators are generating a substantial income and that this exercise has created an opportunity for self-employment.

CCS hopes very soon to expand their three-wheeler operations to Trincomalee Jaffna and Batticaloa.
