Workshop on Premises Management The Institute of Human Development and Training (IHDT) has organised a workshop on Premises Management which will be held from June 26 to 28 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute. The workshop aims to enhance and develop the multi-disciplinary skills required by the premises and facilities manager in order to apply the building process to the management and maintenance of premises by utilising minimum energy for maximum productivity. The target group of this three-day workshop will be premises managers, administrative managers, maintenance engineers, project engineers, operation managers, factory managers, and any one involved in facilities management. The program has 10 sessions which includes skills, qualities and duties of premises managers, building maintenance management, garden maintenance, contracts and specifications and health and safety issues and regulations. The course adviser and chief resource person for the workshop is Dr. S. Sivalingam, Managing Director, Building Services (M&E) Engineering (Pvt) Ltd. The other resource persons are Dr. Rahula Athalage, Senior Lecturer, University of Moratuwa, Eng. Tissa de Silva, Fellow Sri Lanka Institute of Engineering, Eng. Tissa Gunasena, Consultant and Building Services Engineer, Channa Bakmeewewa, Deputy Legal Manager, Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka, W. A. Peter, Deputy Labour Commissioner and Head of Industrial Safety Division, Department of Labour and Hemantha Jayasundera, Director Project Management. |
