Anandians excel at tennis The inter-school tennis tournament which is organised by the Sri Lanka's Boys' Schools Tennis Association is now in progress in schools around the island. The under-11 tennis team of Ananda College, Colombo has performed very impressively in the matches they have played so far. The Ananda College under-11 tennis team beat D. S. Senanayake College 33-0 in their first tie of the tournament. Then they played S. Thomas' College, Mt. Lavinia and thrashed them 26-7. Finally, in their penultimate tie of the first round, they beat De Mazenod College, Kandana 33-0 convincingly. The youngsters from Ananda grabbed 92 points out of the possible 99. Ananda team consisted of Geemal Dias, Manuja Chandrasekara, Malinda Seneviratne, Thilina Chaminda, Dhamya Dhulaj, Kelum Thiyambarawatte, Sahan Pandula, Dhanuk Witharana and Madusha Wijesuriya. |
