'Driving Business through strategic Management Accounting' The Society of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka which was set up with technical assistance from the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada) and funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in June 2000, will hold its inaugural CMA Business Management Conference on 'Driving Business through Strategic Management Accounting' on June 15 at the Taj Samudra Hotel. The keynote address on "Strategic Management Accounting for the 21st Century" will be delivered by Robert (Bob) Dye, President of CMA Canada. Bob Dye is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Society of Management Accountants of Canada, the world leader in shaping strategic financial management professionals to lead successful enterprises in the global marketplace. With 35,000 members around the world, CMA Canada grants a professional designation in management accounting and is responsible for standards-setting, accreditation and the continuing professional development of CMAs. Mr. Dye provides leadership to the CMA Canada National Board of Directors, 27 individuals with diverse backgrounds drawn from all Provinces and Territories across Canada. He also works with regional staff in building relationships with stakeholders across Canada. He has responsibility for building relationships with professional organisations within Canada and international, professional organisations. As Chief Staff Officer for the past 20 years, his major accomplishments have been providing leadership in strategic planning, education and accreditation reforms and governance and administrative reforms within CMA Canada. This is the first time a President of CMA Canada is visiting Sri Lanka and shows the dedication and commitment to develop the Management Accounting Profession and assist the Society of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka to meet the local and global needs in Management Accounting.
