Hakeem meets Thamilchelvam

Port Development, Shipping, Eastern Development and Muslim Religious Affairs Minister Rauff Hakeem met the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam political wing leader Thamilchelvam in Kilinochchi en route to Jaffna. Sudha Master, leader of the LTTE political wing in the Vanni also took part in the talks.

Minister Hakeem, who left for Jaffna overland on the A9 highway last afternoon to attend the funeral of TULF leader M. Sivasithambaram, is expected to meet the LTTE leader soon after a date is fixed for peace talks in Thailand. Minister Hakeem toured Jaffna and spoke to the public.

Deputy Minister Basheer Segue Dawood, Parliamentarians Rishard Badiuddin and H.M.M. Harees and National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress K.A. Bais also joined the minister.
