The Kurunegala Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) of the North Western Province was assigned by North East Provincial Council (NEPC) to design, develop and install a Database for Human Resource Management of the North East Provincial Council employees. This Human Resources Database (HRDB) was installed at different Ministries and Departments of the NEPC at Trincomalee and feeding of employee data is now in progress.

Once the Data feeding (information of around 45,000 employees of NEPC) is completed, it will be possible to obtain information of the Human Resources of NEPC through a computer network. It is planned to network all Ministries and Departments of the NEPC in order to exchange Human Resource Data and this will be the first time that such a database has been developed for a Provincial Council.

Consultants of ISB recently made a presentation to senior level officials of NEPC at Trincomalee to explain the features and advantages of the HRDB and presented the package to the Provincial Council. The ISB is planning to introduce similar Databases to other Provincial Councils for their activities.
