HNB in 44-run win

HNB beat Sampath Bank by 44 runs in the Singer-MCA Premier Division 50-over league tournament match played at the NCC grounds on Sunday.

The highlight of the match was the fighting 89 runs fourth wicket stand between Chamara Silva (43) and Nimesh Perera (50) for HNB.

HNB 177 in 49.5 overs (Saman Jayantha 13, Chamara Silva 43, Kumar Dharmasena 13, Nimesh Perera 50, Chinthaka Jayasinghe 23, Indika Gallage 2/30, Chamara Soysa 2/25, Chandika Haturusinghe 3/34).

Sampath Bank 133 in 41.3 overs (Chamara Soysa 24, C. Haturusinghe 10, J. Siriwardena 25, Upeka Fernando 15, T. Kandambi 30, Dulip Liyanage 2/11, Chinthaka Jayasinghe 2/44, Sajeeva Weerakoon 2/17, K. Dharmasena 3/20).
