by Trincomalee correspondent The number of ferry boats on the Trincomalee-Batticaloa Road are to be reduced to one after the completion of the bridge over the Kiliveddy Ara, a branch of the Mahaweli river. The Kiliveddy Ara is presently crossed by ferry boats and the construction of the Kiliveddy Ara bridge has already commenced. The ferry will be 100 meters long and 7.4 meters wide. The cost is estimated at Rs. 80m. The 'pasi' causeway on the Allai-Kantale Road is also under construction and could be 45 meters long and 4.2 meters wide and the cost is estimated at Rs. 31m. |
