Hambantota District Chamber on fact finding mission The Kurunegala Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) organised a four-country fact finding mission for policy makers and implementers of HDCC following on a request by the Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce HDCC, Kurunegala. The mission was made to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore from March 21 to April 2. The objective of the mission was to create an awareness among policy makers and implementers of HDCC, about the activities which are carried out by Business Development Centers (BDCs) in other Asian countries who provide support services to small and medium scale enterprises. During the mission, HDCC delegation had discussions with 16 BDCs and exchanged a range of information on small and medium industrial development. Arrangements including air transfer, hotel reservation, local transport, discussions with BDCs, visa, meetings with ambassadors and high commissions were made by the ISB. Sri Lanka's Missions in those four countries assisted the ISB to perform the task. ISB is prepared to undertake similar tasks for other organisations in future said an officer of the ISB who accompanied the delegation as the co-ordinator. |
