Army probes food poisoning One hundred and eighty seven soldiers attached to the Army Camp in Vavuniya were affected by food poisoning and treated at the Vavuniya hospital on Saturday evening. Medical reports had confirmed that the soldiers were suffering from diarrhoea, stomach ache and vomiting after taking some infected food. Ten soldiers had been referred to the Anuradhapura base hospital for further treatment. All others were discharged after being given medical treatment. Altogether 205 soldiers had been treated and all were out of danger. The Medical Advisor to the Commander of the Army and the Director Supplies, Army have been sent to Vavuniya to investigate into this matter, an Army news release said. |
