Waqar praises teamwork

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, thursday, (Reuters) - Pakistan captain Waqar Younis praised his side's teamwork after their three wicket victory over New Zealand in the second one-day international gave them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Abdur Razzaq hit 86 and Younis Khan made 70 as the hosts overhauled New Zealand's 277 for five with more than two overs to spare on Wednesday.

"We just had to bat for the whole of 50 overs because the wicket was good for batting," Waqar said.

"We are playing as a team and everyone is putting in his best."

The final match of the series takes place in Lahore and Waqar said changes could be made after a lethargic display of bowling.

"I hope a couple of youngsters will be given a chance to play in Lahore since we have already won the series," he said.

"Everyone has a bad day but I am happy that our batsmen made up for the our bowlers show."

New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming was magnanimous in defeat.

"We posted a good total but it was not enough in the end," he said.

"With Inzamam batting at number six, they always had a long batting line-up."
