The Sri Lanka veterans Table Tennis Team comprising several national players will tour Germany from April 21 to May 6 during which they will play 10 matches against leading clubs in Germany.

The tour will give the much needed foreign exposure to the local players which would stand them in good stead when they play in local tournaments after they return.

Rajiva Wijetunge

1974 - Junior Nationals, runners up partnering Tiran Peiris in Junior Boys Doubles.

Representing Royal College became Inter School's Junior Boys Champions in 1974.

Won Table Tennis colours at Royal College in 1975.

Inter School's Senior Boys Table Tennis Champions in 1975.

Captained the Royal College Table Tennis Team in 1976.

Won the Novices Men's Singles at the Mercantile Championships in 1980.

Member of the Ceylon Tobacco Table Tennis Team which won the Mercantile 'A' Division League Tournament in 1987 and Mercantile knock out tournament in 1988.

Was runners up in the inter company Men's Open Singles at Ceylon Tobacco losing to Sarath Guneratne from 1980 to 1992.

Ceylinco Sports Festival runner up in the Men's open Table Tennis Tournament in 2001.

Sri Lanka Table Tennis Nationals Men's Veterans semi finalist in 2002.

Rajiva's mother nee Lois De Silva, sister Sharmini Wijetunge and (B.T.L) M.B. de Silva represented Ceylon in Table Tennis.

W.A. Buddhasiri

Old Boy of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda experienced Table Tennis Coach. Former National player won mixed Doubles title partnering Namal Gunasekara several times represented Sri Lanka from 1979 to 1991.

Played in three world championships (Sweden 1985 Germany 1989 Sweden 1993 - as a Manager SAF Games 1989 - Pakistan and 'Asian Championships in India, Pakistan, Nepal also toured'.

Veteran Runner's up, 1996 - Inter Club - Colombo District 'D' Division Champion, 1997 - N.S.T.T.A. 'B' Division Champion (League & Knockout), 1997 - N.S.T.T.A. Open Double Champion, 1997 - Inter Bank Runner's up, 1997 - Inter Bank Runner's up, 1998 - N.S.T.T.A. 'A' Division Champion (League & Knockout), 1998 - N.S.T.T.A. Open Veteran Champion, 1998 - N.S.T.T.A. Novices Champion, 1998 - Inter Bank Runner's up, 1999 - Inter Bank Runner's up, 1999 - N.S.T.T.A. 'A' Division Champion (League & Knockout), 2000 - N.S.T.T.A. 'A' Division League & Knockout Champion, 2000 - Western Province 'D' Division Champion, 2001 - N.S.S.T.A. 'A' Division League Runner's up, 2001 - N.S.S.T.A. 'A' Division knockout Champion, 2001 - Inter Bank T.T. Champion, 2001 - N.S.T.T.A. Men's Veteran Runner's up.

Jayasiri Ittapana

Captain of the Sri Lanka Mercantile Table Tennis Team which won the championship in Maldives.

Runner-up in the Sri Lanka open Mens Singles event at the Mayor's Cup Table Tennis Tournament.

Winner of the Mens Singles event at the Intermediate Championship organised by the Friendship Table Tennis Club.

Winner of the Novices Singles at the 1st Highways open Table Tennis Champions;hop.

Captain of the Hayleys T.T. Team which won the 'A' division championship at the Inter Club Mercantile (League) Tournament 1985-1986.

Winner of the Inaugural Triangular T.T. championship among State Services/Mercantile/Nationalised services.

Captain of the Ananda College under-19 'A' division T.T. Team which wont he championship at the All-Island schools T.T. Tournament - 1981.

Captain of the college T.T. Team which won the title in the open Mens 'B' division inter club (league) T.T. Tournament.
