Kandapola Cyclo Cross 2002 on April 27

The National Mountain Biking Association together with the Tea Factory, Kandapola has organised a Mountain Biking Cyclocross event at the hotel premises for 27th April, 2002 from 8 a.m. onwards.

This program will include a very challenging and a spectacular events for all age groups and will be held in a natural eco-friendly location amidst the misty mountains. We shall concentrate in promoting Mountain Biking as an adventure and recreational sport for the tourism industry of Nuwara Eliya. Already about 400 participants (local and foreign) have sent in entries for this event.

There will be a 8 events covering all age groups for students starting from under-10 to under-19 and also 6 national events which will be conducted in a 5.1 km track. The most attractive and exciting event of the day will be the Speed Down Hill which will be the most challenging event of the whole program. Entries can be obtained from the Tea Factory, Kandapola or from the coupons published in the Daily News. Entry forms are also available at National Mountain Bicycle Association, 524, Maradana Road, Colombo 4. Applications can be forwarded to National Mountain Biking Association or the Tea Factory, Kandapola.

The hilly environs and cool climates will make an ideal weekend family outing provided by the Tea Factory, Kandapola.
