Amirth wins Audi Trophy by P. Rajaratnam in Nuwara Eliya The 'Audi' Trophy presented by Senok Automobiles for the first time was won by Amirth de Soysa with 37 points, the Runner-up was Rusi Captain with 36 points and Sunil Jayakody with 41 points. This event was grouped into three categories of A, B and C. The current April seasonal festivities attracted almost 45 golfers from various golf clubs in the country and showed much interest and enthusiasm in a number of gold matches put out by the Sri Lanka's much celebrated Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. There a number of foreign golfing holiday crowds were present at almost all the events and also played when the main matches were not played. The weather golfing conditions were superb with the course were emaculately done up for occasion by the club's President the ever green Ken Murray and the charming Secretary, Clive Tissera. The results of the golf matches so far played were: President's Prize, winner Sunil Jayakody with a nett score of 65 while the Captains Prize was won by Rusi Captain with a net score of 66. The 'Audi' Trophy: (Group A), Amirth de Soysa (37 points), Runner-up Rusi Captain (36 points), Group B), Winner, Sunil Jayakody 41 points, Runner-up, H. Abdul Hussein (33 points), (Group C) Winner, M. Richardson (39 points) and Runner-up, J. G. Kim (30 points). |
