It will be George Keyt's 101st Birth Anniversary on 17th April. The Anniversary will be marked this year at the Russian Centre in Colombo, No. 10, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7. The George Keyt Foundation has unveiled a facsimile of a George Keyt painting each year and will do so this year also, the 7th in the series. These facsimiles of some of his famous paintings are being released in this manner to enable the public to be able to have exact copies of George Keyt's paintings and drawings. There will also be a musical tribute by Menaka Sahabandu, Surekha Amerasinghe, Kamalini Samarakoon and Tamara Holsinger followed by a presentation by the Ravibandhu Vidyapathy Ensemble. The Chief Guest this year will be Dr. Karunasena Kodithuwakku Minister of Human Resources Development, Education and Cultural Affairs and Mrs. Kodithuwakku. One of Sri Lanka's Resident Guests of many years and a great benefactor of the Arts here Mr. W J E Monhemius is the Guest of Honour and he will present to the Foundation a Sculpture of George Keyt as a permanent asset of the George Keyt Foundation. The Sculpture is by one of Sri Lanka's well known Sculptors Mrs. Sita De Saram.
