Lanka 'A' meet Kenya in ICC final tomorrow

Sri Lanka 'A' and Kenya booked their places in Sunday's final of the ICC six-nation Challenge one-day tournament in Namibia when the preliminary round match between the two teams was abandoned due to rain on Thursday.

With the points from the match being shared Sri Lanka 'A' and Kenya have 14 points each, six ahead of their nearest rivals Zimbabwe 'A' who have eight and have no chance of catching them.

The match which was expected to be a dress rehearsal for the final, was evenly poised when rain intervened. Sri Lanka 'A' did well to bowl out Kenya for 175 in 47 overs with leg-spinner Kaushalya Lokuarachchi capturing five wickets for 27 runs. But Kenya struck back to have Sri Lanka 'A' struggling at 74 for 4 in 23.3 overs when the match was abandoned.

The last round robin matches scheduled for today (Saturday) will only be of academic interest. Six teams are playing in a round robin format with the top two countries vying for the final. Namibia, Holland and Canada are the other participating teams.
