A press release from the media unit of the Colombo Municipal Council states the Dispensary Medical Service Department of the Colombo Municipal Council, committed to provide health facilities to thousands of city dwellers, serves them through a network of Western Medical Dispensaries and Four Eye and Dental Clinics spread around the City. The establishment of a special clinic for the employees of the Council is a long felt need, and this requirement is fulfilled. Therefore a new special clinic for Municipal employees will be commissioned by Mr. Omar Kamil, Mayor of Colombo, at the Multi Clinic building of the Dispensary Medical Service Department at No. 104, Sir James Peiris Mawata on April 2 at 9.30 am. The new special clinic is attended by a separate doctor for medical advice and for treatment and comprises a Pharmacist for the issue of medicine, a Pharmacy with various medicines and a team of efficient staff. This clinic too will provide facilities free of charge. The annual attendance to these dispensaries is 840,000, an average of 3,500 patients per day. Medicines and Medical advices are provided during the evening service as well as in the morning services. |
