by Matale district group correspondent The Agriculture Development Authority has implemented micro irrigation schemes in Matale district to improve the cultivation activities in dry areas of the district. Accordingly, in the first stage, 50 micro irrigation schemes will be started in Dambulla, Galewela, Naula and Laggala agriculture divisions. Farmers for this purpose have been selected. An education program will also be implemented for their benefit. The farmers who owned the agro wells deserve to obtain the micro irrigation facilities. Rs. 25 lakhs have been estimated to implement the program by the ADA Rs. 37,500 will be provided in respect of each well while the balance Rs. 12,500 should be paid by relevant farmer. |
