Ceylinco SembCorp Integrated Logistics (Pvt) Ltd (CSIL) has signed a logistics agreement with Nestle Lanka Limited to manage logistics at their most modern warehouse facility at the Pannala plant complex. The CSIL will be responsible for the warehousing, handling, order management, route planning and inventory functions for most of Nestle products.

Managing Director Nestle Lanka Limited, Giuseppe Tarnero said that they received six tenders and CSIL forwarded the second best offer in terms of cost. "But we examined their quality, reliable service, ware housing facilities and IT system before selecting CSIL. We also considered the fact that it is the same logistic provider that is operating with them in India."

Chairman, Ceylinco and CSIL, Lalith Kotelawela said he was privileged to have executed the warehouse contract with Nestle. "It is also of great significance that two household names in Sri Lanka have been able to seek each others' core competence to generate synergies and thereby adding value to their business. I am confident that our logistics company will be able to deliver what we have proposed to Nestle since we have developed a very strong technology base that could role out basic and value added services in logistics, on competitive terms in the most effective manner," he said.
